Basically the pitch was they *can't* enforce it and are relying on
the licensing owner to enforce the licensing requirements.
That's good to know. And maybe the honor system will work. Maybe it will
depend on whether people think IBM is taking them to the cleaners or not, which
motivated a lot of people to try Fast400 a few years ago.
Actually the price / performance on these new models seems very good. A 1.9
Ghz processor running full-bore (3800 CPW) is very good. IBM seems to be
serious about competing against Wintel servers at running CGI/J2EE/PHP
workloads.
