My vote is to keep it on midrange-l because it does relate to a midrange technical podcast. It's certainly more relevant than discussing airports for COMMON. I avoid the non-tech list because I get enough e-mail already on the technical lists. If you need to move it to another list PC-Tech might be appropriate but I don't see why the discussion shouldn't stay right here. With iTunes, downloading new podcasts is automatic once you've subscribed. Another program that works for both Apple and non-Apple MP3 players is iPodder. I haven't used it myself but I get the impression that it's quite popular. It's at http://www.ipodder.org/ If you want to create your own podcast I've heard about castblaster software but also haven't tried it. You don't need to have an iPod or MP3 player to hear podcasts. The iTunes software is a free download at http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and will let you subscribe, listen, and view podcasts on your PC. Personally, I like to listen in my car. Bob has a good idea with his podcast (and I've actually viewed it) but so far I haven't seen any reason for it to be a video podcast. He sits in front of a computer but you can't see anything on the screen. He interviews people but they just stand there and don't do or show you anything. I'm not complaining. He's certainly done more for the AS/400, iSeries, and System i than I ever have but I the video aspect just seems to detract more than it adds. Besides, there are more audio iPods/MP3 players than there are similar video devices so you should reach a bigger audience with audio. A short (5-10 minutes), weekly podcast of iSeries news, programming tips, or technical advice would be great. Dave Parnin
