V5R4 thru cume 06192 Have a lib of 10,000 files, each 20-100 records, all based on same dds. Expanded a number of alpha fields, none shorter, none dropped. No triggers or constraints. It is processing about 3 files a minute (which makes this a VERY long run, in batch. No contention for the files. I can see in job stack it is spending lots of time appearing to check for triggers & contraints. This is much slower than it used to be. I have previously processed the same file set, similar change, in a few hours, not 55 hours.
