They way that I typically do it is to create the remote OUTQ and get that to work. Next, create a dummy device as follows: CRTDEVPRT DEVD(devname) DEVCLS(*RMT) TYPE(*IPDS) MODEL(0) LOCADR(FD) FONT(011 10.0) FORMFEED(*CONT) MSGQ(*LIBL/QSYSOPR) This associates the dummy device with the OUTQ and you can send output either to the device or the OUTQ. The above dummy device was for a laser printer but it should work for a barcode printer too. Dave Parnin
