Do you also consider writing your own firewall or intrusion detection
system?
IMHO, the existing exit point security products are much better than
anything you can whip up. If you take into account the cost of your
development and maintenance time, they are cheaper, too. Looking at the risk
of mis-written security programs, the cost rises even higher.

If you have a problem with cost, get a quote from another solution provider.
