I was going to say that 8mm and QIC drives are notorious for large amounts of temp errors. There's a book somewhere with an "acceptable" level for each drive type.
Thanks Justin. Do you happen to know where the reference to these acceptable levels of temp errors is? The IBM technician tried telling me the same thing but could not define was "acceptable" or "normal". This issue raises a different concern for me. The "flagging" of questionable or bad volumes that the PRTERRLOG report is "supposed" to provide -- is it accurate? What values are those flags based upon?
