Check that!

I got a confirmation from IBM about the order. Then I got another one. Then I got a notice that the images were ready to download. Thinking that IBM had now rigged the CD order to trigger an FTP download, I went back to the Win2K machine and saw a successful summary page. It was hidden by the Java Console panel I had been watching for exceptions. There WERE the same exceptions in the Java console but the OutOfMemory Exception had NOT been thrown so I am going to assume the OutOfMemory issue is a JRE 1.5.xx issue (I did see a bug listed for 1.5.xx on Sun's site)

So, as long as you run 1.4.2.xx of the JRE it appears to work.

I wonder if the CD's will show up as well.

Vern,

Thanks. That worked like a charm. No joy on Fix Central though. I upgraded the JRE to 1.5.0_10. Still blew. Used Robs "trick" suggested by Paul to force an order by CD. No luck. The app still crashes. I went to another machine that was running the 1.4.2_13 JRE on Win 2k. It blew up again.

I don't know what is up with fix central. I would RATHER order electronically and receive electronically but apparently IBM has other plans to use the "Way Back" machine to get the PTF's by CD (is tape next?!)

Thanks for the tip. Hopefully I'll see the CD's on Wednesday.

Pete
