SMAPP - System Managed Access Paths Helps ensure your unplanned IPL (i.e. after system crash) doesn't take a long time during the access path recovery. If your system doesn't crash hard often and you can live with longer IPL, consider bumping the default to some higher value, via CHGRCYAP command. Or, figure out what are your biggest access paths (SQL indexes, keyed LFs, primary keys, unique keys, keyed constraints) and do CHGPF RECOVER(....) to whatever setting you find acceptable (i.e. *NO).
