Sheesh, so I don't even have use PREPARE?!? This could, at a bare minimum, be a one-line RPG program? (Of course, it *won't* be, have to trap errors and set return codes...) Amazing how you can be looking at something so complicated and missing the easy answer right under your nose! And, Vern, perhaps the output types were an important factor for some, and led to that utility I spoke of earlier, but I don't have a need for that. So, the implementation I'm looking at now will probably do the trick. Thanks guys! - Dan
