A 170?  I think you're stuck with doing an unload/reload.

I found a redbook on doing a load source migration.  But it only mentions 
8xx boxes, and the process changes for certain models of 8xx's.  That 
would be chapter 9 of:

Probably checklist 3 of chapter 3 of

assuming that you only have the system asp and no lpar's.
