See Clyde's answer. The DTAMBRS parameter in the key. Just to be thorough, you don't HAVE to create the physical or logical file in QTEMP. You could create a temporary member in the production physical file (named using say, the user job number) and then add a member to the production logical file with the same name that points to the member in the physical file using ADDLFM. The upside is no requirement to create duplicate objects (which requires locking) while the downside is that the objects don't get automagically cleared if the job fails. A final aside: in order to avoid the lock problem with CRTDUPOBJ, you can use CPYF NBRRCDS(1) CRTFILE(*YES) followed by CLRPFM. Joe
