neither got any problems with upgrades. but i probably used only common 
applications and hardware. nothing special.

but it seems that we pretty much have the same opinion about linux.

As Scott mentioned ... I was referring to the Linux upgrade process.
Once installed and configured, Linux works fine for me.

In contrast to System i ... (with the exception of 3rd party hardware
vendor lies and user error) I've *NEVER* had a problem upgrading i5/os
(os/400).
