Let me recommend a commercial solution from Centerfield Technology www.centerfieldtechnology.com

It is called disk/HUNTER and runs in real time, taking almost no CPU until it needs to determine what is causing your space overuse.

I am not an employee there - used to be - and wrote the initial outing of this product.

Don, take a look at system value QJOBMSGQMX. The default is 16MB but
I've set ours at the minimum value of 8MB to conserve disk space.

I've found it helpful in tracking storage use to use the DSPUSRPRF to an
outfile. It includes the amount of storage used by each profile,
including temporary storage. You can run this on the fly, unlike the
RTV and PRTDSKINF commands and it will give you a snapshot of where your
storage is going.
