Joe I agree with your points. 

I always wondered why there was AV software created for the iSeries since 
all it would do is scan files on the IFS and identify infected files that 
only other PC's could get damaged by, not the iSeries. 

From my recollection NO iSeries has ever been shut down by a virus running 
on the iSeries, but the FUD factor can sometimes create a perceived need 
:-)

I would love to hear a real live story of an iSeries shut down by an 
iSeries virus. 

Anyone, anyone ?

Just don't tell me that putting AV software on my iSeries does
anything more than stop the iSeries from being a vector of spread.  If I
have a virus vulnerability, all the iSeries AV software in the world won't
protect me, and in the end, chances are all those viruses won't affect my
iSeries anyway!
