From what you are saying, I am almost sure that your firewall does some
NATing (Network Adress Translation) to allow access to your Iseries from the internet. What that means is this: - The AS/400 has an IP adress that is not visible on the internet (like 192.168.1.1 ) but only in your LAN - Your firewall is connected to the internet and control at least one public IP adress (like 207.200.200.200) - The NAT rules says that when a request is made from the internet to the 207.200.200.200 adress, it is translated/redirected to a request to the adress 192.168.1.1 in the LAN. That is how you can reach your AS/400 from home. Since from work, your request do not go trougth the firewall, you can not use the 207.200.200.200 adress Since the adress 196.198.1.1 is not visible outside your LAN, you can not reach it directly from home. The quick solution will be to have your network admin change the NAT rule in your firewall to rederiect the traffic from the 207.200.200.200 adress to the new internal adress of the new server. But, I would suggest that you setup a VPN access instead. You current setup (if I am right) leaves your AS/400 open to the world which is not a good idea security wise.
