Who said anything about two plates?  Just a good excuse to get cozy if you 
ask me :) 

In the case of software however, I don't see where extra cost is incurred 
by the vendor for extra users.  I'm not saying I'd never pay for anything 
on the basis of number of users, just that it would bug me to do so 
because it seems so illogical.
