I tend to agree that most LUGs  get greater interests on programming topics.

I do not feel it is because Sys Admins are not interested. My betis the LUG distribution lists

have a greater percentage of programmers then Sys Admins and others.

Has anyone ever tried going to their assigned IBM rep and asking fora mailing ( email or USPS)to their contacts within the accounts? Target Sys Adminsor whatever interest groups will help buildyour LUGs Awareness and venues should be in your scope of topicalconcerns. While there make local System i managers aware of yourLUGs local/low cost education and network values to their business

Oh, and as one other person stated, sys admin stuff is not really a big
draw.
Like the Jim Oberholtzer performance one.  Those who were interested
thought he was one of the best presentations in years.  But most people
don't seem to care about the performance end, or it's someone else's
responsibility.  Not that the belief is valid though.
Could drum up little to no interest in getting Al Barsa.  He's a great guy
for a COMMON presentation, larger crowd and more sys admin's in
attendance, and, more people who accept that part as part of their
responsibilities also.  But our LUG just didn't seem interested.

But beating RPGLE or WDSC to death seems popular still.  Or the member
company stuff like "how I got to the web".

I wonder how a presentation on a good workflow system we use in Domino
would go over?  Bring in your non developer people like your quality
managers, engineering managers, etc.  What do you think?
