Advanced Systems Concepts tool called Viewpoint allows the users to
generate their own data into Excel format. The IT guys can set up
templates for them to use, so that they don't hose your system
performance. Plus, Viewpoint does not use ODBC for its interface, so you
   benefit there as well.

There are products like Showcase from SPSS that let you build queries
     that
you can link or copy and paste into Excel. We use it here and it works
well. If you have the Client Access ODBC driver installed you can pull
records into Microsoft Access and move it from there into Excel. That's
kind of a roundabout way of doing it, though. You can use Client Access
     to
export data to a CSV file that can be opened in Excel.

I have a client that would like to be able to download data from their
     iSeries to an EXCEL file.
The problem is that the data files are setup in a "relational" manner,
     not
     a flat file.
Is there any PC product that will allow me to define the relationship
between the files but have that complexity hidden from the end user?

     Thanks,
