Hi Walden - the problem with that scenario is when you receive a Wordperfect file that was created from the latest version of
Wordperfect. I'm sure that's correct, however that's not you're not being forced to upgrade by MS, you're being forced to upgrade by other business drivers. You can't expect any system to accept all data from a newer application. I can't play DVDs in my VCR, I can't play MP3s on my cassette deck, and I can't save something on V5R4 and restore it on V3R1 of OS/400 either. -Walden
