I have a 170 #2291 with a #7101 expansion cage. There is a #2729 Magnetic media controller in slot E09 which I have been using for a while with no problems. I have today added another #2729 in slot E03 but I cant get the system to recognise this. According to all of the manuals I have seen, this is a correct configuration as I do not have an IPCS. Also, the maximum number of #2729s is 2 with an #7101. I have moved the old card from E09 to E03 and put the new card in E09. This new card is recognised and I can use it with my tape drive so I don’t think the card is faulty. I have tried a number of IPL's with and without the cards but still cant get the card in E03 to be configured. Does anyone have any ideas?
