Nothing fancy needed - it is a space object - just like a user space - and the
text of your session is in there in the clear - you will see it in the spooled
file generated.

Excellent! Thanks all who answered this!

Just when I thought I'd never need to remember anything from my
Assembler class in college...I find another use of MI on the AS/400.

Thankfully, the dump shows me enough info for what I was looking for
that I don't have to get any deeper into this.

It's saved in an MI space object (type 19, subtype EE) in the QRECOVERY
library. They are not normal objects, and cannot be viewed with tools
like
WRKOBJ.

You can use the DMPSYSOBJ command or the Display/Alter/Dump service tool

to view their contents, however.

You can probably access them using the MI functions (MATS, CRTS, etc)
but
you'd have to be at a security level that lets you work directly with
system domain objects.

Anyone know where the session data is saved when you use the STRSQL
command and select option "1-Save and Exit Session" just before you
close it?
