As an amateur traveler returning from the fall COMMON in MIAMI to CHICAGO, I
learned to never take a city cab from O'Hare to the suburbs!!!
My limo ride of about 40 miles to the airport was about $70, not too
unreasonable. My cab ride home was $115! Turns out I should have taken a
suburban cab.

Actually I should've taken a limo home but I had packed the phone and
confirmation number for the limo company in my suitcase. And because our
flight was diverted to Indianapolis due to tornados in Chicago at our ETA,
among other things, I thought I'll just hop in a cab...

Philly or Newark was my guess. Distance from nearest airport can be an
issue, not necessarily a deal breaker unless parking is $$$. I remember
flying into SFO and then driving to the Marriott in downtown SF and
paying $25/day to store my $45.00/day car. I was an amateur traveler
then. A million miles later I have gotten a *bit* smarter.

Thanks.
