I tried backing up some smaller stuff to physical DVD.  Found out a couple 
things.
1 - Slow as molasses in January.
2 - Doesn't hold a whole lot of information.

For archiving some old EDI data prior to a purge is the only backup we use 
that for anymore.  Media is cheap (for low volume, might not be so when 
you count the number of DVD's to fit what you can on a nice tape 
cartridge).
