IBM is not capable of diagnosis problems i ( *ANYONE's) SAN as well as
internal DASD. True, but you're not supposed to diagnose SAN performance problems from the host machines, you're supposed to do it from the SAN! The whole idea of a SAN is that I can share disk across many platforms, and in many cases I can have multiple LUNs using the same physical drive. Trying to diagnose drive performance from a host perspective is silly since the host has no knowledge of the true usage of a drive, only the SAN does. -Walden
