Should I expect the two products to behave exactly the same way?

No. IBM's RUNSQLSTM is apparently intended as a scripting tool for DDL(like CREATE TABLE, etc.) There's a utility in the FAQ that will letyou run SQL from a command line, including SELECT. http://faq.midrange.com
