Dumb terminals default to DSP some #, which you can alter with WRKCFGSTS *DEV DSP* enter then F14, such as to some name assocated with their physical location, so they easier to find in reality.
We have a PC used by different people with different passwords different times of day ... they have different iterations of CA on same desk top.
Some users have "programmed" equivalent a sign-on string that remembers their password, what menu they need to get to, take menu option, key something into MAPICS screen etc. and this program string can be somewhat flawed.
If the PC in question was earlier used for your scanning operations, then switched around for other purposes, some of the scanning config might still be there.
Depending on how PCs connect to 400 (e.g. twinax, wireless), they can lose their config settings and steal another work station's logical connection.
I suspect spyware may be targetting CA/400 ... I have seen some strange stuff, cured by running anti-spyware, then reboot PC.
We also are using an ancient OS4 because our software is licensed to the CPU & getting license renewed on replacement box is catastrophic expense. We have seen, via BPCS-L, that companies much smaller than us have had to pay in excess of $ million dollars to get software license renewed on a box that costs less than $ 50 k. Thus, we hang onto our old AS/400 as long as possible, so as to have to bite the financial bullet every 10-15 years instead of every 3-5 years.
Hello everyone, I have a User that gets the following on her SignOn screen, at least once a week. I guess it has been happening for years, but I have only been here for 2 years and just found out about it. I have never seen, nor heard, anything like this. She can eventually sign on after a few tries. We are at V4R5 of the OS, and V4.3 of Client Access Express. It appears that her workstation is trying to sign into the RFINTER Subsystem, and not QINTER? We use RFINTER for our scanning guns. The session ID should be RWHITE1, but it looks like CA is trying to use QPADEV0001? Here is a screen shot of what is on her screen.
