Kirk - In the past we have powered off the system for 1 hour and manually
IPLed, setting the correct time during the IPL and then we changed the UTC
Offset from -7 to -8 ... If we didn't change the UTC Offset, then our iSeries
Navigator Management Central monitors were always an hour off ....

I guess we will do the same this year. We will disable any automatic DST/PST
time processes on the system and make time changes manually. However, I noticed
we can't change the system value QUTCOFFSET manually any more, so we will just
make sure we set the QTIMZON system value correctly during the IPL ...

Ken,

What have you done in the past before your i5? You could always set the
QTIMZON to the non-auto adjust version for PST of 'QN0800UTCS' and then do
what you did all the years before. If I remember correctly applications
like MQ should be shutdown just before 1am and then restarted after the
clock has been reset.

Better yet schedule a nice long maintenance around those hours... :)
