That's a little surprising. I would have thought that a CLRPFM operation would easily outperform even just a few record delete operations. But, then, that's strictly a WAG on my part. If it were my druthers, I just make it consistent and always do the CLRPFM operation, even if there was only one record in the file. What's a few milleseconds, anyway? - Dan
