SMBJOB size limitation - is there a workaround?

Hi all,

I am working on a project which involves a program that periodically reads 
an IFS directory, processing each file that appears in that directory. 
This directory polling program (call it pollpgm) takes two parameters - 
the directory to poll and the directory that files should be place in once 
they have been processed.  In order to make this as flexible as possible, 
I made both parameters 32000A.

Now I am trying to write some commands and CLs to start/restart/stop this 
polling job, and I am running into an error on SBMJOB because my 
parameters are > 5000 characters long.  Can someone suggest a workaround?
