Similar to another place I used to work at except we took QINTER down at 0200. Even issued a message to any hapless user that was logged on (it was a software firm so the "users" were all programmers who, as we all know, have no life) about 10 minutes beforehand.
Invariably I would get a call at 0215 telling me that "There appears to be a problem with the system." Changed the messages to break messages and issued three in series (Going down in 15; Going down in 5; You're toast). I finally had to unplug my phone Saturday night before I went to bed.
