While we are on this subject, is there any way to update the QUTCOFFSET system value automatically when Daylight Saving Time changes? I know you can use SNTP but you need this system value to set the time and change system values QDATE and QTIME. It was invented by Benjamin Franklin as "Daylight Candle Saving Time", but not first adopted until WW1 to save fuel. On Behalf Of Jones, John (US) Sent: Monday, October 16, 2006 8:14 AM To: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Subject: RE: iSeries Support Question Oh, it's real time. If I happened to be awake I could call at 3AM on Christmas Day and get an operator. I've gotten calls from them at 1AM
in the past when there were issues with backups. The service provider we use has a fair number of other iSeries
clients,
including other global companies. They themselves have multiple facilities and teams of staff, not just a couple of individuals. At least one of their technical staff monitors this list and replies
on
occasion. John A. Jones, CISSP Americas Information Security Officer Jones Lang LaSalle, Inc.
