Apparently announced yesterday, but with special hardware models to accompany it in a few weeks. (You would think that the timing could be better.) I heard a briefing on it last month, and it was very impressive. It apparently includes clustering under the covers for switchover/failover, but is aimed at the market greater than 100 telephones. 700 CPW to start, and about 1.2 CPW per handset. You need to replace *EVERYTHING short of wiring to get started. An interesting workload for the AS/400. It will drive new footprints, because you likely won't want to run this in an LPAR. (You don't want to bring down your phone system for maintenance or an MES.) The guy you want for the briefing is Michael Rousseaux (sp?) out of Boston. The briefings at COMMON apparently left the audience senseless, as I had many call me with questions afterwards.
