Glenn,

Obviously Mike is just being a stirrer and you fell for the bait. If indeed he is talking about iSociety, then he is just blowing smoke.

IBM does support iSociety in its push for awareness and its work to foster community. Awareness is certainly ~one~ way to increase sales.

Just because a cynic announces that IBM is relying on "user groups" to increase sales, does not make it true. With such obvious negativity from these cynics and from those who engage in such speculation and conjecture, IBM is smart enough to know that "counting on" that support is not good for the platform.

See you on iSociety!
Trevor

Mike were did you see this article that referenced User Groups?
In other news, IBM is counting on a user group to increase sales of its midrange line.

Is it local National or local or both. My hope is this is not jusy iSociety stuff.

The latest from the mainframe camp is that IBM will spend $100 million over
5 years to make the mainframe easier to use.

In other news, IBM is counting on a user group to increase sales of its
midrange line.
