Audit the command CRTDEVDSP. I know, you're thinking but maybe they're autoconfiged, or autovrt, and that command doesn't come into play? Well, I had a system with autoconfig turned off but iSeries Access windows still configured new sessions. I then renamed the command CRTDEVDSP and stopped it cold. However the boss replaced a failing twinax terminal with a different model. "autoconfig" deleted the old model but could not create the new session because there was no CRTDEVDSP command to run under the covers. Ended up having to run a remote command to rename CRTDEVDSP back so that we could get a 5250 session. Then I was told to leave that security hole open and not rename the command back to something other than the supplied name. Rob Berendt
