No need to apologize, especially since you are right.  I AM suggesting 
that you dupe the object, change it, and then do the DSPFD to the outfile. 
 However if you want to stay on your path, then do so, just run the DSPFD 
twice.  Once with only one file, then do the CHGPF... *NOMAX.  Clear it, 
then run the DSPFD again, this time specifying all you want.
