I am leaning towards the adoption. Who knows who will be running this program. Basically he is trying to do recursive SQL. Apparently there are some issues using recursive SQL on a table with "traditional" LF's built on it. And that is where the QAQQINI option helps. Concern about possible negative ramifications on other queries prevents us from modifying the system wide QAQQINI. Keeping an alternative permanent QAQQINI (with altered security) to copy and modify also concern us. Then if you make a change to the system wide one you'll have to remember to change this one also. And since IBM's web site has things like "to make BPCS work you should make this change to the QAQQINI file..." the possibility of making changes to the system wide one are out there. Rob Berendt
