Is the iSeries running Netserver? If not, you cannot access the IFS with Windows Explorer or map a drive to it. You can access with OpsNav or via green screen with wrklnk but not with any MS software. Try mapping via IP address. If it works you've got a DNS/WINS problem.-----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Booth Martin Sent: Friday, September 08, 2006 12:36 PM To: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Subject: How to map a network drive How to map a network drive. Lately it seems I am getting nothing but simple questions that I can't answer. I looked through the archives but couldn't find anything that I understood. I am connecting to a System i over the Internet with vpn. I would like to map a drive to the ifs. I've tried "Map a network drive" with MS Explore -> Tools -> Map a network drive and couldn't make it work. I tried Ops Navigator and couldn't find a way to map a drive. Of course this is simple but I can't figure it out.
