We do this weekly for a couple of things but a slightly different
approach. The PC is the driver.

We have a PC dedicated to autorun jobs, especially between the network
servers and the 400. I launch Access from the Windows scheduler and a
macro (via command line switch) in the Access DB exports the file (CSV
or flat) which I then FTP to the 400. It's a time window operation -
Access exports and FTP's at 8:00am - 400 kicks off at 8:15am. Simple.
FTP RCMD could be used to launch the 400 conversion when the FTP is
finished, but this works fine for now.

Haven't tried it, but the 400 could probably drive it with StrPcCmd -
may be too much trouble or security risk since you have to have a
session started.

I need to transfer several tables from an Access Database- I know, I
know. Theres not any chance any time soon of the Access being replaced
as it is from a vendor product.

Anyway this has to be an automated process on a quarterly
basis(preferably kicked off from the ISERIES.

I don't see a way to do this with Client Access.

Any ideas on how to accomplish this?
