The EXTFILE, EXTMBR, and USROPN keywords on the file specs offer some interesting possibilities for your situation. Another tricky part is in the field definitions. If your record has some sort of field separator, then that seperator could be used to parse the data into separate fields. Hope that helps, Nick W. Mart
