Kirk, I would like to clarify a couple of things you stated.
When setting up LanConsole a couple of things happen #1 The device must predefined in SST/DST (this is by name). The only one predefined is QCONSOLE
What device must be predefined in SST/DST? The alternate console name or the PC name that will use the LAN console? How many predefined LAN console names can you have? I know you can have a primary and a alternate console. Is this different with LAN console?
#2 The first time a predefined console attaches a super secret id/pwd is
created and stored on the PC that only the system knows. If another device with the same name tries to attach, it can't. I assume this "super secret id/password" is stored in a file on the PC and if this file is missing or doesn't match the PC, the system rejects the connection? Thanks for your help.
