This is normal. The rest of the memory is used by the FSP (Service
Processor).

Btw, 1 GB Memory is a very small amount. If it is more than a
development machine for one or two people, consider upgrading to 4 or
8GB. The System i is IO bound.

why would wrksyssts only show 4 pools with 
total 876 meg (v5r3)? (order sheet shows as 1GB DDR-1 Main Storage)
