Chuck,
While looking for alternative tools for GUI based queries, remember that
object level access with exit point programs are also needed for security.

Even if you implement a more 'secure' GUI based tool, people will still be
able to use Excel or other tools to access information on the iSeries,
whether you roll it out or not.

Subject: GUI alternative to IBM Query

Hi Folks,

Anyone using a GUI based alternative to IBM Query ?

We had someone show our CFO how to do some stuff with Microsoft's query
tool
and the ODBC drive from Client Access and it appears to have absolutely
NO
security what-so-ever and I see all kinds of problems with rolling that
out.

Thanks !

Chuck
