Brad: Parts of this aren't making sense. I followed the comments from Rob and then your reply. Comments included:
It's actually the userid passed in by the FTP exit program.

No, the Connect has always been QTCP (this is the connection when getting the login screen... there is no userid at that point).
What exit point are you referring to? And what application & operation identifiers are coming from the exit point? Those should help us know what you _should_ be seeing. I assume identifiers are AppID=1 and OpID=0. QTCP would normally be the userid making the initialization request for a connection. Is it consistent for the one user? I.e., ENDTCPSVR/STRTCPSVR *FTP doesn't clear the condition if that user connects again. Tom Liotta midrange-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx wrote:
2. FTP, Connections and QTCP User ID (Brad Stone) I am working with a client who is seeing connections to their FTP server with a "real" User ID and not QTCP. I've always seen that when you initially connect to the FTP server it uses user ID QTCP. But in this case it's connecting with their own user id. They are on V5R3, so I am not sure if something has changed, or if there is a way to configure an FTP client to connect with a different user id. There is just one UserID that is doing this. All others initially connect with QTCP.
