Hi All,

Yesterday we had our VAR come up and swap some equipment around for us
in our two backup AS/400s. Essentially, we gutted one and placed most
of the equipment in the other.

When the machine is fired up, the front panel now comes with an error
code. The code A6001730. They checked the website, and (from what I
remember the technician telling me) the error code coming up was 22,
where the website only had error codes up to 21.

The system still appears to be running fine. There are no perceptible
errors in either the DASD or the Main Storage or anything else that
would affect operations. Also, the error did not show up immediately on
IPL. Rather, it showed up about 15 minutes after it was up.

We're running v5r3 on this machine. Could it possibly be a missing PTF
causing the issue? The machine has been upgraded to 175GB of DASD and
3GB of main storage (all salvaged from the other machine). It's a
9402-720.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Also, Does anyone know if there is a market for older AS/400s
(9406-720)? Our third machine that we gutted was buttoned back up with
some spare equipment we no longer will be using (10 x 4GB DASD, 256MB
Main Storage, etc.), so it might suffice for a basic AS/400. I have my
doubts, but I thought I'd check with the group.

Thanks!

Brian.
