No, I had done that part correctly. It seems I had ordered my CD "too early". IBM knew about this problem when I called. They had me download a new image & try to burn it to a CD. But I had issues with the image. So I just ordered the new CD & rescheduled for a different weekend. I just hated that every time I called the help desk at IBM it took them an hour to return my Severity 1 call. It really puts a cramp on the whole thing. Only problem to date is coming from V5R2 the allocation additional LIC space option on LICPGM option 5 (prepare for upgrade) doesn't give enough space. The documentation has the correct API call in it to get the space required and once that's done the upgrade works fine. At least two of the upgrades were machines with Ops Console, no problems with either console. There are some memory leak issues in V5R4 with the query optimizer. The fixes are in the latest DB group for V5R4 and V5R3. - Larry DebbieKelemen wrote:

people walked me through recovery.
