You might want to check settings for User profilesi have mine set so it sends me a message every time one of my jobs gets to end of job ... this includes stuff in my name from job scheduler I also get a message any time I have a report that finishes printing ... this is extremely useful to me since the high speed printer is in a different place than I am
Within the CL of whatever runs the program you can RETREIVE identity of user who is doing the thing you can SNDMSG to that userI have some messages sent to QSYSOPR that some job is running that we estimate will take 2 hours

HI I completed a program that sends a report to the outq. We need to tell the user that the report is on hold, we don't want them coming round all day long but once a day the operator will print and bring to them. I haven't done such a message in a while, but was also wondering about having a window popup or something, is this easily done now on the Iseries? if not, is it simply SNDPGMMSG?
