We are thinking that the problem of a duplicate check number in a PF occur
when the users terminal has been locked.
The senior programmer here stated that on the times that this dup. has
happpened the operator brought her a term. dump.

I would have thought that the lock would remain intact, on a PF, even
during a term. lockout.

Is this not so?

Thanks,
Steve
Interesting, maybe this has something to do w/ the problem I am having w/
the occassional duplicate record?

I want to put an *EXCL lock on a physical file. I have tried the ALCOBJ
command but only the 1st member is allocated by the ALCOBJ command and
the other members are unaffected. I can specify one the other members to
be locked, but I want a way of putting an *EXCL on the PF itself and not
just one of the members. Does anyone know how to do this?
