Locking a Physical File -- MIDRANGE-L

I want to put an *EXCL lock on a physical file.  I have tried the ALCOBJ
command but only the 1st member is allocated by the ALCOBJ command and
the other members are unaffected. I can specify one the other members to
be locked, but I want a way of putting an *EXCL on the PF itself and not
just one of the members.  Does anyone know how to do this?
