I think when I asked our BP about the 3581 with the Ultrium3 drive I was
told it was being EOM'd also.
Just something to think about.
We are still deciding whether to jump to Ultrium3 and the TS3100 library
(overkill). If we do that, we really disrupt our tape scheme between our 3
iSeries boxes as far as current media and read/write capabilities between
Ultrium1, Ultrium2, and Ultrium3 tapes. We may still buy a 3581 on the
used market... maintenance will be available for a good long while i'm
sure...

Maybe the 3581-l3h(scsi) or f3h (fibre) would work
both are Gen3 and hol 8 tapes in a library
