Interesting study, No mention of DB2 Viper: http://www-306.ibm.com/software/data/db2/v9/xml.html Being able to store database tables as XML documents is huge. As I imagine it, using Viper you can join from a DB2 order detail table to an XML document containing what was shipped today a warehouse you have outsourced to. The thing is you need a lot of CPU to do database transaction serving, esp when some of your data is stored in xml documents. That is why we need to be able to run i5/OS on fast, market priced p5 hardware. -Steve
